Our Tasting Notes:
A sugary sweet, fruit bomb with a funky undertone. Mango, Red Delicious Apple, and M&Ms with a pipe tobacco finish.
When Ben last visited Luis, he tried nearly 60 lots from farms he owns as well as some from his neighbors. After cupping, we visited the wet and dry mills where coffee is washed and dried before export, and spent the following day on his farms. The rainless climate makes drying coffee easy. However, one only has to cross the top of the cordillero to find the lush green of the Pacific tropics, and it is here, Luis’ coffees really grow. Un Regalo de Dios is one of his three farms on the northern border of Nicaragua. This lot comes from 100% Red Catuai trees, which are known for their excellence all the more when brewed in the cup. We hope you enjoy it as much as we appreciate all of Luis’ work and roasting it as best as we can to highlight all his efforts and the terroir.
